ONUG Monitoring and Analytics Working Group
Minutes of Webex meeting, 12:00pm – 1:00pm, Wednesday, March 1st 2017
Participants introduced themselves and stated whether they were planning to attend the face-to-face meeting in Santa Clara on March 8th. A number of people said they couldn’t attend in person, but would like to dial-in, if possible.
- Document review
Aryo Kresnadi presented the document he had circulated prior to the meeting. This document includes a number of use cases and associated requirements that were identified during the 2016 ONUG discussions.
Babak Roushanaee presented a document he had prepared, which also describes several use cases and associated requirements.
It was noted that KPIs, dependencies and the role of the network were key themes in the documents. It was also noted that the application context is important along with the need to correlate different sources of data. This last point is an area where tagging might be used.
- Working methods
The Chair suggested that, as discussed at the previous meeting, the work of the group be maintained in a living document. With that in mind, he suggested using Babak’s document as the base document for capturing and developing the use cases, and asked Babak to act as Editor for the document. The proposed approach was seconded by Nick Lippis. Babak will send out an updated version of the document ahead of the next meeting.
The Chair requested that all written contributions to meetings be sent out at least 24 hours before the next meeting to allow people time to review the content.
- Next meeting
The next Monitoring and Analytics meeting will be held during the face-to-face ONUG meeting, hosted by Yahoo on Wednesday, March 8th 2017.
