Session Description

During ONUG Fall 2015, we learned that the ONUG Community has hit the inflection point toward deployment of Virtualized Network Overlays. With workload mobility, network segmentation, reduced OpEx, and better control of network connectivity between pools of application workloads as the main benefits.

The ONUG Virtual Networks/Overlays Working Group has delivered use case requirements, a hugely successful feature verification test plan, and has started the process of developing  multi-vendor proof of concepts. During the winter months, the Virtual Networks/Overlays group began a new phase to explore additional use cases, including virtual routed networking and container networking. In this session, members of the working group will provide an update on the group’s findings based upon this exploratory phase.
