Mr. Kohlwey is currently the Associate Director of Intelligent Networking and Emerging Technology Development for Verizon Communications. In this role, Mr. Kohlwey is responsible for leading an organization that is responsible for providing Subject Matter Technical Officer (SMTO) support for all IP Communication Services and underlying technologies within Verizon. This would include MPLS, 802.11, Mobility, SDN, Cloud and Security. Mr. Kohlwey also has in-direct responsibility for leading the development of custom product solutions and associated end-to-end operational support

Prior to this assignment, Mr. Kohlwey has held various positions of increasing responsibilities centered on providing Advanced Engineering Support to the Public and Private Sector and various internal organizations within Verizon.

Mr. Kohlwey has been with Verizon Communications for 16 years. Prior to joining Verizon Communications, Mr. Kohlwey was a Principal Architect for Liz Claiborne Inc. in North Bergen, NJ.

Mr. Kohlwey resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife and children. He is an active volunteer within multiple for youthprograms in and around Charlotte.
