Fred is currently a member of PG&E ‘s Cybersecurity team.

Fred was a Principal member of technical staff at eBay, with a primary focus on Security Architecture for eBay’s Cloud Data Center and Perimeter Networks.

Prior to eBay, Fred was Chief Security Architect at Visa Inc., heading up the Security Architecture practice for Cloud, Infrastructure, and Networks. At Visa, Fred drove the Software-Defined Security and Next-Gen Cloud/Data Center Security architecture programs which focused on threat-centric, software-driven, and scale-out distributed architectures for IaaS and PaaS cloud deployments. Prior to that, Fred led Enterprise Architecture strategic initiatives for Visa’s Infrastructure and Network Blueprint, and he also led engineering teams responsible for designing and implementing the world’s most secure and largest retail electronic payments transactions IP network: Visanet.

Fred has been a panelist of The OpenStack Summit on continuous end-to-end Cloud compliance monitoring and attestation. He is also a speaker and an active member/contributor to ONUG (Open Networking User Group), where he co-chairs ONUG’s Software-Defined Security Services Working Group.

Fred holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from the Universidade Catolica de Pernambuco – Brazil, in addition to an MBA degree from California State University, East Bay.

Fred holds the following industry certifications: CISSP, TOGAF-9, CISM, CISA, in addition to expired Cisco network certifications.

Fred has experience in several industries: Fin-Tech, Internet, Telecom, Banking, IT consulting, and Utilities.
