David graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Zoology and began his career in Ophthalmology research. Changing careers from research to information technology in 1992, he worked as a system administrator for the Cardiology department at Duke University Medical Center. He then spent several years at a start-up company as a manager of software development, and moved into Network engineering at GTE and then 3Com before joining Cisco in 2000
David has over eleven years’ experience at Cisco Systems as a Systems Engineer and in 2006 was asked to become one of the first Data Center Technical Solutions Architects at Cisco. He covered the Southeastern Area of the US, providing Data Center vision for customers during the advent and explosion of cloud computing.
In 2011, after retiring from Cisco, David joined WWT as a TSA in the Data Center group and then moved into the Practice Lead role for Routing and Switching, which has now evolved into the Enterprise Networking Solutions practice.
