Senior Digital Marketing Manager

Brief Description:

We are looking for an energetic, creative individual who is excited to be in the driver’s seat during one of the largest IT industry transitions in more than thirty years. This candidate will engage and drive our executive Digital/Cloud Transformation conference business to the next level.

Main responsibilities:

The marketing manager will drive all marketing programs including demonstrator sales support, attendee marketing, and outreach, as well as ONUG Journal publication content agenda/schedule. The overall goal of this position is to drive growth in the ONUG Community and expand demonstrator footprint via all relevant marketing channels by:

  • – Developing attendee marketing campaigns to increase the ONUG Community of IT business leaders on the west and east coasts
  • – Cultivating a sense of community via marketing programs for all ONUG stakeholders, IT executives, demonstrators, standards organizations, open source communities, federal government representatives, and academics
  • – Managing all ONUG social media outlets and relevant content in the planning and execution of social media initiatives
  • – Writing and distributing press releases/media advisories
  • – Liaising with the media and responding to inquiries
  • – Coordinating press tours
  • – Developing custom pitches to large enterprise IT departments to get them engaged in the ONUG Community
  • – Monitoring, tracking, and analyzing media competitive coverage
  • – Researching and maintaining master editorial calendar
  • – Assisting with email marketing campaigns in promotion of the ONUG Conferences, Working Group Initiatives, and other news items
  • – Working with media and analyst partners to promote ONUG Conferences and content
  • – Managing the ONUG Blog and ONUG Journal newsletter
  • – Proactively developing new partnerships and relationships to drive broader ONUG engagement across all industries
  • – Creating ONUG Board and Influencer talking points to promote ONUG messaging
  • – Building support of ONUG Board corporate relations, driving board member press participation

This position will report to the Managing Director and Chairman.


  • – The ability to invest marketing dollars and develop campaigns based upon digital marketing data analytics
  • – Successful conference community marketing campaigns that have proven to drive larger audience
  • – Deep understanding of all digital marketing channels including social, email, and data analytics
  • – Excellent writing and speaking skills

  • – Bachelor of science degree in marketing, communications, engineering or other relevant disciple
  • – Five plus years of B-to-B digital marketing experience
  • – Previous experience working with business and IT digital marketing is a plus
