This workshop will focus on Networking for applications running in a Kubernetes cluster in Azure. You will learn about the fundamental Networking stack that powers containers and learn to use Azure’s network security and hybrid connectivity solutions to secure your containerized applications. We will provide you hands-on experience using the AKS service and setting up these networking capabilities.

Topics covered in the session include:

  • Setting up a K8S cluster using AKS, utilizing Azure CNI for connectivity
  • Using Azure’s Kubernetes Network Policies to secure your Pods
  • Utilizing Service Endpoints to secure access to popular Azure services from you Pods
  • Using Azure Firewall (cloud native firewall as-a-service) and Network Security Groups (NSGs) to secure your cluster
  • Using Express Route to provide on-premises connectivity to your cluster
  • Monitoring using Container Insights and Azure Monitor

Who should attend: IT personnel, cloud architects, cloud developers that are deploying containerized applications in Azure. The other workshop on Advanced Networking Capabilities is relevant to this session here so it will be beneficial to attend both sessions.
