Enterprise IT Infrastructure is transforming into building blocks of a software ecosystem stitched together via APIs and service meshes. In networking and security its Network Function Virtualization, Software-Defined Networking, Software-Defined Perimeter etc that are guiding the path forward. An estimated 21 billion connected sensors and endpoints will be networked by 2020; that’s 2 years away. The digital business opportunities and implications on asset management, operational efficiency, maintenance repair and, proliferation of learning intelligent things, new digital revenues and models, etc are game changers. To seize these digital opportunities and keep up, enterprise infrastructure is becoming code. In this session, ONUG members discuss the type of new network architectures they are deploying that are less proprietary, how they are instrumented, patched, upgraded; in essence what is the new operational model in the software-defined world.
