Chris Drumgoole is a customer-centric, pragmatic leader with 15+ years of executive management success in the global technology industry. His career includes success in leading organization-wide change and development, turning around failing business efforts and driving IT modernization for various companies. Through his people-focused approach, he consistently improves his company’s ability to deliver outstanding client and customer service and grow business efforts. A former firefighter, Chris brings the same skillset he gained in his early career to his leadership style. He can quickly devise strategies to solve problems, bring together a team and address challenges with the big picture in mind. Chris can turn around failing business efforts, rapidly lead development and steer a company toward a common goal.
Across the last 5 years, Chris has been charged with leading IT modernization for an inflexible, dated structure and team at GE. After serving as Chief Technology Officer for four years, he was tasked with leading change management efforts as Chief Information Officer, responsible for facilitating digital transformation and modernizing IT structure to support GE’s efforts worldwide. Presently, he oversees a team of ~10,000 staff delivering GE’s transformation and vision across 170 countries worldwide.
Before working for GE, Chris held progressively responsible roles at Terremark, a company for which he worked for six years. Across his tenure, he established the company as a leader in the field of enterprise cloud computing, successfully contributing to product evolution and leading the portfolio to become #1 in enterprise cloud solutions and #2 in the entire cloud segment. In 2011, Chris contributed to Terremark’s sale to Verizon for $2B while he was serving as a member of the executive leadership team.
Chris enjoys providing strategic vision and leadership to a variety of professional organizations and causes. As a member of Florida International University’s Dean’s Advisory Council as well as ONUG’s Board of Directors where he guides governance, financial management, securing resources and decision-making. In his free time, he works with YearUp!, a social organization focused on providing young adults in urban environments with the skills, experience, and support to empower them to reach their potential.
Additionally, Chris currently serves as a director of PetSmart, a $7b US pet products retailer where he also serves as a member of the audit committee.
